Job summary

ABB in Bengaluru is seeking a General Accountant to support account receivables and/or credit activities, and to help manage and analyze record to report data for accurate financial reporting.

You will perform general accounting, reconciliations, month-end closings, and assist audits, with SAP experience and ICoFR compliance. Graduate with 3+ years of experience is preferred; CAB facility is provided within BBMP limits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years operational experience in General Accounting.
• Experience performing reconciliations and detailed discrepancy analysis.
• Ability to perform accounting-related analysis and generate reports.
• Experience with month-end close processes and audits support.
• Working knowledge of SAP and R2R processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform general accounting activities and record financial transactions.
• Execute quality checks on financial reporting data and monitor fluctuations.
• Support ICoFR compliance within General Accounting and document controls.
• Assist with data gathering, data entry, and basic financial analysis.
• Assist team during audits and fulfillment of stakeholder requests.

This Position reports to:

Team Lead - General Accounting

Your Role And Responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support account receivables and/or credit activities in line with defined strategies, policies, and procedures. Each day, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing record to report data. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with the relevant accounting standards.

• Performing general accounting activities, applying techniques and standards to the classification and recoding of financial transactions.
• Executing quality checks on financial reporting data, including fluctuations monitoring.
• Complying with and helping achieve Internal control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) compliance in General Accounting team for applicable templates and participating in internal control testing and preparing relevant documentation.
• Assisting with data gathering, data entry, and basic financial analysis to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements.

Qualifications For The Role (Mandatory)

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Performing general accounting activities and recording of financial transactions
• Performing reconciliations of accounts and get to details for any discrepancies
• Performing accounting related analysis and generate reports to support finance Queries
• Performing month end book closing and reporting activities
• Assisting team leader during the audits
• Performing such other activities as required to meet the Stake Holders requirement

Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent work experience.

• Ability to train / coach/ guide other
• Expertise in the end-to-end R2R Process, involving Intra-Group area .
• A working knowledge of SAP
