Job summary

ABB in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned General Accounting professional to support end-to-end R2R processes and intra-group accounting. You will manage record-to-report data, ensure accuracy of financial statements, and help uphold ICoFR controls in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5+ years operational experience in General Accounting.
• Ability to train / coach / guide others.
• Expertise in the end-to-end R2R Process, involving Intra-Group area.
• Working knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

• Performing general accounting activities, applying techniques and standards to the classification and recoding of financial transactions.
• Executing quality checks on financial reporting data, including fluctuations monitoring.
• Complying with Internal control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) in General Accounting and assisting with internal control testing.
• Assisting with data gathering, data entry, and basic financial analysis to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements.
• Performing general accounting activities and recording of financial transactions.
• Performing reconciliations of accounts and investigating discrepancies.
• Performing accounting related analysis and generate reports to support finance queries.
• Performing month end book closing and reporting activities.
• Assisting team leader during the audits.
• Performing such other activities as required to meet stakeholders' requirements.

This Position reports to: Team Lead - General Accounting.

Your Role and Responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support account receivables and/or credit activities in line with defined strategies, policies, and procedures. Each day, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing record to report data. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with the relevant accounting standards.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

• Performing general accounting activities, applying techniques and standards to the classification and recoding of financial transactions.
• Executing quality checks on financial reporting data, including fluctuations monitoring.
• Complying with and helping achieve Internal control over Financial Reporting (ICoFR) compliance in General Accounting team for applicable templates and participating in internal control testing and preparing relevant documentation.
• Assisting with data gathering, data entry, and basic financial analysis to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements.

• Performing general accounting activities and recording of financial transactions
• Performing reconciliations of accounts and get to details for any discrepancies
• Performing accounting related analysis and generate reports to support finance Queries
• Performing month end book closing and reporting activities
• Assisting team leader during the audits
• Performing such other activities as required to meet the Stake Holders requirement

Qualifications For The Role (Mandatory)

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent work experience.
