Job summary

Leadout Capital is hiring for a Controllership Accountant in Hyderabad. You will handle GL accounting, fixed assets, PO accruals and close activities, while supporting US GAAP adoption and SOX compliance.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Strategy, and auditors. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, 3+ years in relevant process experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience with strong attention to detail.
• 3+ years of process experience with ability to apply US GAAP.
• Experience in SOX control documentation and execution.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience reviewing POs from an accounting perspective and accrual entries.
• Strong GL accounting knowledge, including PO review workflows and accrual analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; knowledge of Workday, Excel, and related tools is desirable.

The Experience

As a member of the Controllership SSC team, the candidate can expect to work in a fast-paced, non-traditional environment while building relationships within the accounting team and the larger organization (i.e. Finance & Strategy, Revenue Recognition/Management, Revenue Operations, Treasury, Tax, and Compliance).

The Accountant is responsible for many aspects of general ledger-related activities focused on GL accounting, Fixed Assets accounting, Purchase Order accrual accounting, proper application of US GAAP, various accounting transactions, monthly and quarterly close and balance sheet account reconciliations. In addition, the role will be involved in the 10-Q and 10-K processes, participate in SOX compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics and reporting) of any controllership process
• Understand and prepare accounting entries for various financial activities, which may include GL accounting, Fixed Assets accounting, Purchase Order accrual accounting etc.
• Prepare monthly / quarterly financial statement flux variance analysis for management reporting
• Provide support to the 10-Q and 10-K reporting process, including preparing supporting schedules
• Work cross-functionally with and support our business partners by providing financial insights and relevant reporting
• Prepare SOX documentation including the EAE documentation as part of SOX control execution/compliance
• Understanding of SOX controls
• Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews, annual audits and SOX testing with internal and external auditors
• Work cross-functionally with the Regional and International accounting teams to ensure alignment and to drive process improvements
• Ability to quickly understand new processes identified and ready to work on such processes.
• Ability to work independently with the process owners to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and any changes communicated
• Create and maintain process documentation
• Deliver on ad-hoc projects / deliverables as necessary

You're Our Person If

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting, analyzing information, attention to details, deadline oriented, thoroughness in the deliverables, spirit to work as a team and confidentiality
• 3+ years of relevant process experience (for the selected role) with ability to interpret and apply relevant US GAAP.
• Experience in SOX control documentation / execution
• Detail oriented, ability to multi-task and work independently
• Proven Experience: Strong hands-on experience reviewing POs from an accounting perspective and a track record of accurately analyzing and processing period-end accrual entries. Fixed assets accounting and reconciliations.
• Demonstrated expertise in GL accounting practices, specifically regarding PO review workflows and accrual analysis.
• Understanding of ERP systems and willingness to learn quickly. Knowledge of other tools such as Workday Financials, Blackline, eGRC360, Tableau, Hyperion, Microsoft Excel, Slack, etc. is desirable
• Strong organizational and verbal / written communication skills
