Moreish Food, a fast-growing FMCG/food processing manufacturer in Ranchi, seeks an senior finance professional to oversee general accounting, costing, MIS reporting, and statutory compliance. The role covers AP/AR, production costing, inventory controls, and tax assessments, reporting to senior management.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in finance-related fields; CA/CMA/MBA (Finance) is preferred, with 10+ years in manufacturing FMCG.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting/Commerce required; CA/CMA/MBA (Finance) preferred.
• At least 10 years in FMCG/Food Processing/Beverage industry in a manufacturing unit is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel with functions like VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables; strong MIS reporting and financial analysis skills.
• Sound knowledge of GST/TDS compliance, statutory portals, reconciliations, and accounting processes.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. General Accounting & Financial Control

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, monthly closures, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments.
• Handle core accounting activities, including budgeting, cost accounting, P&L preparation, balance sheet preparation, cash flow analysis, and ledger management.

2. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Supervise vendor bill processing, payment scheduling, credit period tracking, and vendor reconciliations.
• Oversee customer credit limits, outstanding receivables, age-wise analysis, and collections tracking.

3. Production Accounting & Costing

• Track and record raw material consumption, yield variance, direct labor, and production overheads.
• Conduct product costing analysis, standard vs. actual cost variance analysis, and identify cost saving opportunities across manufacturing/production units.

4. Inventory Management

• Oversee stock accounting, physical vs. book inventory reconciliations, and scrap management across plants and warehouses.
• Implement strict controls on inventory valuation (FIFO/Weighted Average) and slow moving/obsolete stock tracking.

5. Sales Accounting (Primary & Secondary)

• Manage revenue recognition for primary sales, distributor billing, discounts, and trade schemes.
• Reconcile secondary sales data from distributors, super stockists, and retail channels to track actual secondary movement and claim settlements.

6. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure 100% compliance with GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C reconciliation, ITC matching, e-way bills, e-invoicing). Manage TDS/TCS calculations, timely deposit of tax, and quarterly return filings.
• Liaise with tax consultants and authorities for statutory filings and notices.

7. MIS & Management Reporting

• Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual Management Information System (MIS) reports covering P&L, Cash Flow, Variance Analysis, and Budgeting.
• Present operational financial insights, profitability analysis by product line/region, and key metrics to senior management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
• CA, CMA, or MBA (Finance) is preferred.
• Atleast 10 years in FMCG/Food Processing/Beverage industry in a similar role at manufacturing unit is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel functions and financial reporting, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, MIS reporting, and financial analysis/modeling.
• Sound knowledge of GST/TDS compliance, statutory portals, reconciliations, and accounting processes with the ability to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
