Job summary

MTC Business in Satara is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and plant costing for steel manufacturing processes. You will supervise accounts payable/receivable, manage working capital, and ensure accurate MIS and dashboards for senior management.

Key focus areas include GST, TDS and statutory compliance, fixed assets, budget control, and internal controls, with close coordination with Production, Purchase, Stores, Sales, and HR to ensure cost

Job description

• Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting, general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and monthly book closures.
• 2. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, MIS reports, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and management dashboards.
• 3. Steel Plant Costing: Manage product costing for steel manufacturing processes, including raw materials, scrap, ferro alloys, electrodes, power, fuel, consumables, labour, and production overheads.
• 4. Inventory & Stores Accounting: Monitor accounting and valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and stores and spares. Ensure reconciliation between physical stock and financial records.
• 5. Budgeting & Cost Control: Prepare annual budgets, monitor actual expenditure against budgets, analyse variances, and recommend cost-saving measures to improve plant profitability.
• 6. Taxation & Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable statutory requirements. Coordinate with tax consultants and authorities.
• 7. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise vendor payments, customer collections, credit control, outstanding balances, and reconciliation of vendor and customer accounts.
• 8. Working Capital Management: Monitor cash flow, fund utilisation, receivables, payables, inventory holding, and banking facilities to optimise working capital.
• 9. Audit & Internal Controls: Coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial procedures, and internal control systems.
• 10. Plant Coordination: Work closely with Production, Purchase, Stores, Sales, Commercial, Logistics, and HR teams to ensure accurate financial transactions and operational cost reporting.
• 11. Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditure: Maintain fixed asset registers, monitor capital expenditure, oversee asset capitalisation, depreciation, and reconciliation of physical assets.
• 12. MIS & Business Analysis: Provide financial insights on production costs, contribution margins, profitability, expense trends, and operational performance to senior management.

Team Management

Lead and guide the accounts team, allocate responsibilities, review work quality, and ensure timely completion of financial deliverables.
