As Gujarat Travels and Gujarat Cargo continue to scale, we are seeking a highly seasoned, process-driven Accounts Manager with over 10 years of experience. This is a critical leadership role requiring a professional with unimpeachable integrity and strong compliance values. You will be stepping into a fast-paced, high-volume environment, where your primary mandate is to bring structured, process-driven initiatives to operational chaos. You will lead the accounting team, oversee the distinct financial workflows for both the travel and cargo divisions, and drive aggressive cost-control measures to improve our bottom line.
Job Responsibilities
- Team Management & Task Review
- Allocate and monitor the Account department task checklist across the team, maintain a task tracker, due dates and status.
- Plan workload, backup cover and cross-training, conduct weekly team review meetings and report status and exceptions to management.
- Train and develop team members, support performance appraisals.
- Ledger Scrutiny & Online Agent/Payment Gateway Accounting
- Oversee regular matching and reconciliation of cash, bank, Vendor & Customer ledgers, balances across branches, and clear pending or unposted items on time.
- Review loans, advances, payables, inter-group balances, franchise and creditor dues, including related interest entries and party confirmations.
- Oversee the weekly checking of E-commerce operator & payment gateway sales, and the reconciliation of bookings, discounts and revenue with E commerce Operator statements, tax records and our books.
- Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Supervise tax and payroll deductions such as TDS, PF, ESIC and PT, and make sure they are recorded and paid correctly and on time.
- Oversee GST working and ledger matching and review the regular reconciliation with tax records.
- Coordinate with CA for returns, audits and assessments.
- MIS, Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and cash flow reports, and plan funds
- Review Receivable & Payable ageing timely and follow up on overdue balances.
- Deliver the reports on time with clear observations.
- Coordinate with other departments to get data and close pending items, and set simple procedures and checks that reduce errors, delays and leakages
- Perform any other accounts or finance related tasks as assigned by management from time to time.
- Leadership & Process Transformation
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the internal accounting team, driving accountability and high performance.
- Structuring Chaos: Demonstrate resilience and analytical thinking by implementing process-driven initiatives and automated workflows in a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment.
- Standardization: Develop and enforce clear financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all branches and corporate offices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years supervising an accounts team.
- Relevant Experience: Experience in transport, logistics, travel/ticketing or a multi-branch business is a strong advantage
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and scaling an accounting team.

- Change Agent: Proven ability to implement process-driven solutions and bring order to a chaotic, fast-paced environment.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of corporate taxation, GST nuances (especially in transport/GTA), cost accounting, and cashflow forecasting.
- Education: Graduate in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com) required; MBA (Finance), CA-Inter or ICWA-Inter preferred
