About us

YoYo AI helps retail brands understand what is actually happening on their shop floors. Our devices capture conversations between customers and sales staff. Our AI reads those conversations and picks out the things that decide whether a sale happens: what the customer came in for, what they hesitated over, where the pitch fell short. Sales leaders, marketers, category buyers and L&D teams then use that to make calls they were earlier making on instinct.

We work with brands in jewellery, apparel, electronics, furniture, auto, home improvement, hospitality and BFSI. We are building this out of Bengaluru, for India and for markets beyond it.

The role

You sell to VPs of Sales who run 500 to 1500 people across a store network and are judged on what those stores convert.

The competition is rarely another AI company. It is mystery shopping, a manager's weekend walkthrough and a gut feeling. Your job is to show a leader that they have been running a large business on a very small sample, and that there is a better way to see it. That argument is winnable, and it is far more interesting than a feature comparison.

The harder part is trust. This product listens to conversations on a shop floor, so somewhere in every deal a leader will ask what their staff will think and whether they are allowed to do this. Answering that honestly, rather than deflecting it, is what closes these deals.

What you will do
  • Own the number. Work the pipeline your BDR builds, add to it yourself where an account is worth going after directly, and close it.
  • Direct the BDR. Tell them who to go after and what to say. You set the target list and the framing, you review what is landing, and you sharpen it. Their output is only as good as the brief you give them.
  • Run discovery that gets somewhere. Find out what the leader is measured on, what they spend on mystery shopping today, and what they cannot see across their stores. The pitch is different for a jewellery chain and an electronics chain, and you should know why.
  • Sell the pilot, then win it. Get a paid pilot into their stores, stay close while it runs, and make sure what comes out of it is something their leadership cannot unsee.
  • Handle the trust conversation properly. Be straight about what is recorded, who sees it and how this is meant to coach rather than police. A deal built on a vague answer here falls apart later.
  • Bring the field back. Sit in the stores you are selling into. The best line in your pitch will come from something you watched a salesperson do, not from a deck.
  • Build the playbook as you go. Write down what worked, kill what did not, and leave behind a repeatable motion rather than a set of wins only you know how to repeat.
What we are looking for
Must have
  • 2 to 5 years closing B2B deals, with real exposure to multi-stakeholder cycles rather than only transactional ones
  • The presence to hold a conversation with a VP of Sales about their conversion, their attrition and their quarter, and be worth their next thirty minutes
  • Comfort selling something that touches employee trust. You should be able to take the monitoring question head-on without either dismissing it or panicking
  • Heavy hands-on LLM usage. Research, account mapping, sequences and call preparation should already be running on AI for you
  • Fluent English and Hindi. A third Indian language counts for a lot, since the useful conversations happen on store floors and not only in HQ meeting rooms
  • Willingness to spend time in stores. This product cannot be sold convincingly from a deck
Good to have
  • Sold into retail, or into any business where the buyer runs a large distributed frontline team
  • Sold something with hardware in it, or anything that needed a deployment before it produced value
  • Experience with paid pilots and proof-of-value selling rather than demo-and-quote
  • Time at an early-stage company where you built pipeline from nothing
