Job Summary
Accounts Executive is responsible for managing the organization's day-to-day financial operations and maintaining accurate accounting records. They handle payments, prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts, ensure compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards, and support audits. This role plays a key part in monitoring cash flow, maintaining financial accuracy, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily expenses, invoices, receipts, and transactions in the company ledger.
- Bank Reconciliation: Compare bank statements with internal accounting records to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure timely filing of statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, and other applicable taxes, while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly financial summaries, including cash flow reports and transaction analysis, to support business decisions.
- Audit Support: Organize financial documents, receipts, and reports to assist internal and external audits and ensure smooth financial reviews.
Required Skills
1. Technical Skills
- Microsoft Excel: Proficiency in spreadsheets, including functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis tools for efficient financial management.
- Accounting Software: Hands-on knowledge of accounting systems such as Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar software for transaction processing and financial record management.
2. Core Accounting Skills
- Ledger Management: Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including Accounts Receivable (money coming in) and Accounts Payable (money going out).
- Bank Reconciliation: Match bank statements with company accounting records to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, cash flow reports, and other financial summaries.
3. Tax & Compliance Knowledge
- GST Compliance: Knowledge of calculating, preparing, and filing GST returns as per Indian tax regulations.
- Income Tax Knowledge: Understanding of basic income tax rules to ensure accurate tax calculations and compliance.
4. Soft Skills
- Attention to Detail: Ability to review financial data carefully and maintain accuracy in all accounting records.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Identify financial discrepancies, investigate issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Clearly explain financial reports, insights, and updates to management and other stakeholders.
