Job summary

JobTitle: Academic Coordinator

Location: Hanspura, Ahmedabad


Key Responsibilities

1. Academic Leadership

  • Plan, implement, and monitor the academic programme for the Primary Wing.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the curriculum in alignment with school policies and educational best practices.
  • Develop annual academic plans, monthly planners, and assessment schedules.
  • Monitor curriculum completion and maintain academic quality across all classes.

2. Teacher Mentoring & Development

  • Guide and mentor teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Organize professional development sessions and workshops.
  • Support teachers in integrating experiential learning, project-based learning, and technology into classroom instruction.

3. Curriculum & Assessment

  • Review lesson plans, worksheets, question papers, and teaching resources.
  • Ensure assessments are competency-based and aligned with learning outcomes.
  • Monitor student performance and recommend intervention strategies.
  • Coordinate remedial and enrichment programmes for students.

4. Student Development

  • Track students' academic progress and overall development.
  • Work closely with teachers and counsellors to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Promote holistic development through co-curricular and life-skill activities.
  • Encourage values, discipline, leadership, and responsible behaviour among students.

5. Parent Engagement

  • Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and academic counselling sessions.
  • Address parent concerns related to academics in a professional and timely manner.
  • Build strong partnerships between school and families.

6. Academic Administration

  • Prepare academic calendars, timetables, examination schedules, and reports.
  • Maintain academic records, lesson observations, and curriculum documentation.
  • Coordinate school events, competitions, assemblies, exhibitions, and academic celebrations.
  • Ensure timely submission of academic reports and documentation.

7. Quality Assurance

  • Monitor classroom teaching standards and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with school academic policies and statutory requirements.
  • Review teaching resources and recommend improvements.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

8. Technology Integration

  • Encourage teachers to effectively use digital tools and smart classroom technologies.
  • Support integration of AI-enabled teaching tools and digital learning platforms.
  • Promote blended learning and responsible digital citizenship among students.

9. Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Principal, Coordinators, teachers, counsellors, and support staff.
  • Participate in school planning, committees, and strategic initiatives.
  • Foster teamwork and a positive professional culture.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in any discipline.
  • B.Ed. (Mandatory)
  • Additional certifications in Educational Leadership, Curriculum Planning, or School Administration will be an added advantage.

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
  • At least 23 years of experience in an academic leadership role such as Coordinator, Head of Department, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum, competency-based education, and assessment practices.
