ISB in Mohali seeks an Operations Management Academic Associate to work closely with world-renowned faculty, delivering high-quality courses and shaping learning experiences for future business leaders.

You will support course delivery, manage academic activities, proctor exams, grade assignments, and help develop new material as needed, while pursuing two structured certification tracks under the Academic Associate Certificate Program (AACP).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field (Operations Mgmt, IE, Math, Data Science, CS, Stats).
• Candidates pursuing or holding a Ph.D. may apply.
• Strong foundation in data science, AI/ML/DL, analytics.
• Proficiency in Python and R.
• Familiarity with LMS and course-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup, management and delivery of courses, including in-class activities, LMS, grading, feedback, and exam proctoring.
• Provide academic mentoring and tutorials to students.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation of grading and communications.
• Audit courses for certification requirements and participate in workshops and research activities.

Overview

As an Academic Associate, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned resident and visiting faculty to deliver high-quality courses and shape the learning experiences of future business leaders. This role is ideal for young, energetic individuals with a strong academic background who aspire to start their careers in higher education, research, or teaching. Many ISB Academic Associates often pursue a Ph.D. at internationally renowned universities or business schools, or transition into teaching positions at well-known universities.

You will primarily support faculty in course delivery, manage academic activities, and ensure smooth classroom operations - from facilitating sessions and grading assignments to enabling engaging learning experiences. Additionally, you will have a unique opportunity to pursue one of the two structured certification tracks as part of our Academic Associate Certificate Program (AACP):

Qualifications

• Educational Background:
• Master's degree required. (Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related fields)
• Candidates pursuing or holding a Ph.D. may apply.
• Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, candidates with the following background or expertise will be at an advantage

• Strong foundational knowledge of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Business Analytics, or Supply Chain Management
• Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and business applications
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
• Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including experience in Quality Engineering, Task Scheduling, and Optimization Techniques
• Experience with project-based tools and methodologies related to Quantitative Analysis and Statistical Modelling

Assist in Course Development, Delivery and Management

Support in the setup, management, and delivery of courses, ensuring effective learning experiences. Tasks include managing in-class activities, LMS, grading assignments, providing feedback, and proctoring exams. Support for developing new material when needed. - 45%

Student Mentoring and Tutorials

Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, offer personalized support, and assist with understanding course content. Conduct tutorials and offer targeted academic assistance. Ensure students receive timely help with their queries and develop key academic skills. - 15%

Documentation and Audit Compliance

Ensure fulfilment of audit requirements by accurately documenting all grading, student communications, and course-related interactions. Maintain organized records to support internal audits and compliance reviews. - 20%

Professional Development and Certification

Audit courses for certification requirements (teaching or research).Complete Business Foundation courses by ISB. Attend workshops, seminars, and peer learning sessions focused on both instructional strategies and research development. Participation in faculty-led research projects to develop research skills and gain experience, enhancing overall research competencies (subject to opportunity). - 20%
