Job summary

Brose Group in Pune is seeking a senior SAP ABAP Developer to drive ABAP-RICEF solutions in an agile setting. You will contribute to high-quality development, participate in design, and guide junior developers while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 8–10 years of experience in SAP ABAP, OO programming, and familiarity with SAP UI5/Fiori, HANA, and WebDynpro. Permanent, full-time position with a modern working environment.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience in agile environments.
• Strong ABAP-RICEF skills and OO programming.
• Experience with SAP UI5, Fiori, SAP-HANA, and WebDynpro.
• Familiarity with SAP Gateway, OData, CDS views, AMDP, and BTP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete development activities for SAP Custom Development solutions (ABAP).
• Communicate development status according to the project plan.
• Realize software development requests and escalate issues early.
• Estimate own tasks and stay flexible for business needs.
• Collaborate with team to ensure successful project completion.
• Prepare high-level technical design and development roadmap.
• Handle incidents, service requests, changes on demand.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Quality reviews of own and others' developments.
• Support team objectives and responsibilities.

Your Tasks

• Complete development activities such as coding, testing, documentation and maintenance support for SAP Custom Development solutions. (ABAP Development)
• Communicate development status according to the project plan and agreed timelines.
• Realization of software development requests in timely fashion there by escalating issues well in advance.
• Estimation for own tasks/activities.
• Be flexible in taking up different tasks in software development team as per the business requirement
• Work closely with other development team members to ensure successful project completion
• Team collaboration to support the team’s objectives and responsibilities.
• Prepare high-level technical design and development roadmap based on the blueprint.
• Handling of incidents, service requests, demands, and changes on need basis.
• Quality reviews of own and other developments to keep up the customer expectations
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers

Your Profile

• Software engineer with 8-10 years experience in software development (agile methodologies)
• ABAP-RICEF (Reports, Interfaces,Conversions, Enhancements, Smartforms)
• ABAP Object oriented programming
• Experience in SAP 7.5 onwards new coding syntax
• Adobe forms
• WebDynpro
• SAP-HANA, SAP-UI5 and Fiori knowledge will be an added advantage
• Experience with SAP Web Services, OData, and SAP Gateway is a plus.
• Experience with Core Data Services (CDS) views and annotations is a plus.
• Hands-on knowledge of ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) is a plus.
• Good to have knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services and extensions.
