Job summary

UWorld, a global leader in online test prep, is seeking a talented modeling artist to join our team and create high-quality medical and scientific animations.

You will develop 3D models, objects, characters, and scenes focusing on human anatomy, following design guidelines and production pipelines. You will keep up to date with the latest 3D tools and strive for accuracy, aesthetics and productivity while meeting deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in fine arts or equivalent with anatomy, design, and animation understanding.
• 5+ years industry experience specializing in modeling.
• Extensive knowledge of Maya and ZBrush.
• Traditional arts background with emphasis on photorealistic character work is a plus.
• Team player with exemplary communication skills.
• Ability to create detailed anatomy parts per reference with blend shapes.

Your Role

• Use modeling software and artistic skill to create, maintain, and update 3D models
• Involvement in developing medical-related objects, characters, scenes, and human anatomy
• Follow design guidelines, asset naming conventions, and other technical constraints
• Keep up to date with the latest developments in 3D design, capture and modeling tools, and related technologies
• Maintain consistently high standards for accuracy, aesthetics, and productivity
• Follow company art direction and production pipeline, proposing approaches that stimulate positive enhancements
• Must be a keen observer of reality with near-perfect understanding of relative scale and dimensions, especially in terms of human anatomy
• Work collaboratively with other members of 3D team
• Keep up to date with the latest developments in modeling tools and technologies
• Be able to solve complex technical problems that occur within the environment
• Effective time-management skills, including ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions and established protocols/procedures

Your Experience

• Degree in fine arts or equivalent with a thorough understanding of anatomy, design, and animation, or 5+ years industry experience specializing in modeling
• Extensive knowledge of Maya and ZBrush
• Traditional arts background with emphasis on photo-realistic character work and environments is a plus
• Team player with exemplary communication skills
• Ability to create detailed anatomy parts as per the reference provided with the blend shapes
