Job summary

Zitro in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a skilled game animator to create bold, readable animations for slot games and collaborate with art, design and dev teams.

You will animate assets in 2D and 3D, optimize for Unity or proprietary engines, and ensure timing and feature psychology align with gameplay and rewards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of game animation experience, preferably in slots or mobile games.
• Strong timing and squash/stretch skills demonstrated in reels.
• Proficiency with Spine, After Effects, Photoshop, Maya or Blender.
• Experience in 2D and 3D animation pipelines.
• Solid grasp of real-time animation principles.

Responsibilities

• Create high-impact animations for slot games that are bold, readable, and emotionally resonant.
• Animate 2D and 3D assets including symbols, reels, transitions, bonuses, and UI.
• Collaborate with Art Lead, Game Producer, sound, design, and dev teams.
• Follow and improve animation pipelines and naming conventions.
• Prepare and optimize animations for Unity or proprietary engines.
• Review feedback from QA, Producers, and slot testing teams.
• Contribute to visual polish for Attract Mode and Big Win FX.

What will your challenge be

• Create high-impact animations that are bold, readable, and emotionally resonant for slot games.
• Ensure animations enhance gameplay experience and align with player psychology on land-based casino machines.
• What will you do Day-to-Day
• Animate a wide range of in-game assets both in 2d & 3d which includes symbols, reels, transitions, bonuses, and UI elements.
• Work with Art Lead and Game Producer to align animations with gameplay pacing and feature psychology.
• Collaborate with sound, design, and dev teams to sync animations with audio and triggers.
• Follow and improve animation pipelines and naming conventions.
• Maintain visual clarity, timing precision, and thematic alignment.
• Prepare and optimize animations for game engines (Unity or proprietary).
• Review and iterate based on feedback from QA, Producers, and slot testing teams.
• Contribute to visual polish and presentation-level animation (Attract Mode, Big Win FX, etc.).

What are we looking for in you

• 4+ years of experience in game animation, preferably with slot, casual, or mobile games.
• Strong reel demonstrating high-impact animations with good timing, squash/stretch, anticipation.
• Proficiency in Spine, After Effects, Photoshop, Maya, or Blender.
• Experience animating in both 2D and 3D pipelines (preferred).
• Solid understanding of animation principles for real-time games.
• Ability to work within tight performance constraints (file size, resolution, CPU/GPU limits).
• Great attention to detail and consistency across asset types.
• Excellent communication and team skills.

What adds extra value

• Experience working on land-based slot machines or GLI-compliant environments.
• Comfort with basic rigging and asset prep (symbols, bones, mesh deformers).
• Understanding of player psychology and how animation can drive emotional spikes.
• Ability to storyboard or pre-vis animations for complex features.
• Familiarity with shader-driven FX and VFX layering.
