Senior AWS Developer

Location: Bangalore - India

General Purpose

We are looking to hire a Senior AWS Developer with excellent technical and communication skills to collaborate effectively with Digital, IT, and business stakeholders. The role involves developing and implementing integration components across the Digital and Retail engineering teams, focusing on systems such as web applications, warehouse management, order management, POS, ERP, and CRM. The candidate will develop a microservices architecture using cloud providers like AWS, participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, and apply best practices to ensure system reliability and consistency. This is a hands-on technical role in a public-facing, enterprise digital ecosystem, supporting complex projects and technical problem-solving across systems.

The role also involves supporting and enabling various divisions of the Herman Miller business globally, using agile methodologies to design, develop, test, and implement solutions that meet end-user needs.

Essential Functions

• Define best practices within the functional area.
• Determine technical requirements and solutions to drive projects through all development phases.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners.
• Conceptualize and execute solutions to complex problems.
• Create and maintain technical support documentation.
• Develop and supply implementation services, component interfaces, and prototypes.
• Design architectures that are secure, robust, scalable, modular, API-centric, and global.
• Ensure proper system integration, perform troubleshooting, and optimize performance.
• Identify opportunities for technological improvements.
• Support existing applications with enhancements and issue resolution.
• Contribute to designing and implementing a modern integration platform for global retail and digital systems.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant field.
• 6 to 10+ years of professional experience in integration and/or application development.

Skills and Abilities

• Deep understanding of AWS Cloud Services such as Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, Cognito, DynamoDB, Step Functions, S3, EventBridge, Appsync, IAM, and AWS Transfer.
• Ability to use Terraform for AWS infrastructure creation.
• Knowledge of Serverless Framework technology.
• Proficiency in Node.js and/or Python.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and best practices.
• Experience with systems integration in digital and retail environments, including Salesforce Clouds, WMS, OMS, and ERP.
• Strong experience with web services, APIs, and protocols such as REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with API management tools like Boomi and AWS API Gateway.
• Experience with headless architectures and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for virtual collaboration across locations.
