Job summary

Sky Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable cloud-native solutions on AWS. The role focuses on ML platforms and MLOps pipelines, with Python-based microservices and API development.

You will lead cloud migration efforts and implement CI/CD practices, collaborating across global teams in a hybrid setup in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in senior engineering roles, strong AWS experience including SageMaker, Kubeflow, or MLflow, and hands-on Python

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related fields; MS preferred
• 8+ years experience in key engineering roles such as technical lead, software engineer, and software architect
• 5+ years experience using AWS to architect and deploy reliable, scalable cloud native solutions
• Experience working in an agile/scrum environment
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Hands-on design and development with Python, Flask, Django, AsyncIO
• Experience with cloud services (AWS): EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, Aurora, ECS-Fargate
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and testing frameworks (CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Jenkins)
• Experience integrating with async messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS
• Strong knowledge of software development processes and project management
• Excellent communication and documentation skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams

Role: Senior Software Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)

Contract Duration: Long Term

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)

Location: Hybrid - Wed/Thursday to be in onsite in Hyderabad, India

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Architect and manage machine learning platforms and MLOps pipelines using tools such as AWS SageMaker, Kubeflow, and MLflow.
• Build and maintain distributed applications using Python and modern frameworks such as Flask, Django, and AsyncIO.
• Design and develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures for enterprise-scale applications.
• Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives while applying AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices to accelerate software delivery and improve reliability.
• Integrate applications with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Amazon SQS.
• Monitor and optimize the health, performance, and availability of production systems while implementing proactive alerting and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, data scientists, and engineering teams across global locations.
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical mentoring for development teams.
• Create technical documentation, standards, and best practices for cloud, software engineering, and MLOps initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement through adoption of new technologies, automation practices, and engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related fields; MS preferred
• 8+ years experience in key engineering roles, such as technical lead, software engineer, and software architect.
• 5+ years experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) to architect and deploy reliable, cost-effective, scalable, and secure cloud native solutions.
• Experience working in an agile / scrum environment
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges, knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework, industry standards, and best practices Strong experience with MLOps platforms such as AWS Sagemaker, Kubeflow, or MLflow.
• Hands-on design and development experience using Python, Flask, Django, AsyncIO, etc. Good understanding of distributed software applications, including system integration, testing, and troubleshooting Experience in monitoring the health of distributed systems and a strategy for error detection and recovery Systems integration experience, including design and development of APIs, Real-Time Systems, and Microservices
• Current cloud technology experience, preferably AWS (EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, Aurora, ECS-Fargate etc.)
• Passionate to learn new frameworks, building new processes and procedures from scratch, and training the analysts on best practices. Demonstrable familiarity with CI/CD process, testing frameworks, and practices (CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, Jenkins, Harness, etc.)
• Experience integrating with async messaging, logging, or queues, such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Strong knowledge of software development process and project management methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
