Job summary

Company Details Confidential in Ireland is seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Tenda Oriental Takeaway on Main Street, Duleek. You will work at the wok station, prepare ingredients, and help deliver authentic Chinese dishes during peak service.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of professional Chinese cooking experience, strong teamwork, ability to work under pressure, and knowledge of HACCP practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Chinese chef in a professional kitchen.
• Proficient in wok cooking, stir-fry techniques and sauce preparation.
• Knowledge of Chinese cuisine and traditional ingredients.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• HACCP certification is advantageous.
• Valid work permit/eligibility to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes according to established recipes.
• Operate wok station and manage cooking temperatures and timing.
• Prepare ingredients including meat, vegetables and sauces.
• Ensure consistent food quality, taste and presentation.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow HACCP standards.
• Assist with stock management and rotation of ingredients.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff during busy service periods.
• Work on own initiative and manage kitchen workflow when required.
