Job summary

BMD is seeking a Welding Inspector to oversee daily welding traceability, perform inspections on high-purity piping systems, and maintain logs. The role requires reading P&IDs, Isometrics, and working in a pharmaceutical/semi-conductor environment.

Ideal candidates have welding or quality inspection backgrounds, camera-ready documentation skills, and experience with on-site audits, safety protocols, and turnover readiness. On-site work in Ireland is expected, with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Background in quality inspection highly desirable
• Welding experience highly desirable
• Background in pharmaceutical/semi-conductor
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs
• Ability to read and understand Isometrics
• Ability to use tracking software such as EIDA
• Safe pass.
• Manual Handling - Valid.
• IPAF / MEWP.
• At least 3-5 years' experience within the field.
• Must have high-purity pipefitter experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production welding and material traceability is recorded daily and entered to databases and verified.
• Perform welding inspections on high-purity stainless steel piping systems using the latest technologies and techniques.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure the integrity of all piping systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and other documentation.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Perform on-site Audits.
• Ensure the project-specific quality plans are implemented.
• Ensure 100% visual inspection of completed welds.
• Ensure piping Test Packs and supporting records are produced and completed to the project standard for turnover.
• Co-ordinate NDT % testing of site welding.
• Co-ordinate with the construction team system walkdown and snagging ahead of pressure testing.
• Audit and sign off weld logs and weld maps, inspection, and NDT for turnover.
