Job summary

Cental Engineering is looking for a QA/QC Mechanical Inspector to support our fabrication and quality activities. Based in Carlow, Ireland, you will work with Production, Welding, Engineering and QA/QC teams to ensure welds, drawings and inspections meet project requirements.

You will visually inspect components, read drawings, verify measurements and material traceability, and complete QA/QC reports. Strong computer skills with Excel, Word and Outlook are essential, and experience with welding

Qualifications

• Experience with welding, fabrication and reading technical drawings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect fabricated and welded components.
• Inspect completed welds against drawings and project requirements.
• Read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.
• Carry out dimensional inspections and verify measurements, tolerances and alignment.
• Identify welding/fabrication defects and raise snags or NCRs when required.
• Verify weld and material traceability.
• Check material identification and certificates.
• Inspect steelwork, brackets, frames, supports and fabricated components.
• Complete inspection checklists and QA/QC reports.
• Maintain photographic inspection records.
• Support FOK, client and final inspections.
• Support snag and NCR close-out.
• Work closely with Production, Welding, Engineering and QA/QC teams.
• Good computer skills are essential, including Excel, Word, Outlook and working with digital drawings and inspection documentation.
