Job summary

BaxterStorey invites applications for a Kitchen Porter in Raheen, Ireland. The role is 20 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays with some weekday availability, and offers a rate of €14.30 per hour with enhanced rates for unsociable hours.

Responsibilities include dishwashing, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with basic food prep, and inventory tasks. Candidates should have stamina, attention to detail, and good communication; no formal education is required but catering/kitchen

Qualifications

• No formal education is required, but an understanding of the role is required and catering/kitchen experience would be a plus
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order
