Job summary

Aramark, Galway, is seeking a Weekend Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. You will help maintain cleanliness, support food prep, and ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy weekend service.

The role emphasises food safety, teamwork, and the ability to stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment. Previous kitchen porter experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar hospitality support role (desirable).
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning procedures (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, equipment, and storage facilities.
• Assist kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as directed.
• Remove and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in compliance with environmental and health and safety standards.
• Perform general kitchen cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising work surfaces and equipment to the highest standards.
• Restock supplies and ensure all necessary items are readily available to support kitchen operations.
• Maintain consistent awareness of food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Work efficiently and collaboratively during peak service times to support the overall kitchen operation.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management promptly.
• Follow all health, safety, and food handling procedures established by the organisation.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability when priorities change during service.
