Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Weekend Cook for Cork City, offering a part-time role with 12 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00am–3:00pm. The position focuses on preparing fresh, nutritious meals and maintaining high kitchen standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals to a high standard.
• Follow menus and recipes; ensure food is prepared and presented with care.
• Adapt to individual dietary requirements; ensure food safety and hygiene.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety.
• Keep kitchen, equipment and prep areas clean, organized and ready for service.
• Monitor food levels and minimise waste through portion control.
• Work independently and support the catering team when needed.
• Contribute to a warm, welcoming mealtime experience for customers.
• Complete required food safety and hygiene checks per procedures.

You’ll play an important part in creating enjoyable mealtimes, preparing food to a high standard and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly throughout the weekend.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and well-balanced meals to a consistently high standard
• Follow menus and recipes while ensuring food is prepared and presented with care
• Adapt to individual dietary requirements and ensure food is prepared safely and appropriately
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety
• Ensure the kitchen, equipment and food preparation areas are kept clean, organised and ready for service
• Monitor food levels and minimise waste through effective preparation and portion control
• Work independently while also supporting the wider catering team when required
• Help create a warm, welcoming and positive mealtime experience
• Follow all Sodexo and client procedures and complete required food safety and hygiene checks
