Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd in Ballinasloe, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, seeks Cleaning Operatives for a residential care facility. The role covers cleaning patient rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens and other areas on Saturdays and Sundays, totaling 15 hours weekly.

You will maintain hygiene standards, restock supplies, operate cleaning equipment safely and keep accurate cleaning records. A good work history, reliability and ability to work as part of a team are essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms, operating theatres, common areas, bathrooms, and other areas.
• Clean and sanitise bathrooms and replenish supplies.
• Clean kitchens and ensure dishes are cleaned and stored.
• Clean windows, partitions, and mirrors to a streak-free finish.
• Vacuum carpets and mop vinyl or hard floors.
• Perform laundry tasks and restock linen area.
• Dispose rubbish at approved disposal points.
• Maintain storage areas and keep supplies stocked.
• Keep accurate cleaning records and prepare reports as needed.
• Display appropriate signage and adhere to health and safety during cleaning operations.
• Undertake training and work as part of a cleaning team.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for Cleaning Operatives in a residential care facility in Ballinasloe, Galway

Shift Pattern: Saturday and Sunday, 15 hours per week

Main duties and responsibilities

• Areas to clean can include but are not limited to the following: Patient Rooms, Operating theatres, Common Areas, Bathrooms, Emergency Areas, Laboratory and Diagnostic areas, Nurse Station, etc.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and showers. Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and towels.
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen areas, including countertops, appliances, and floors; ensuring all dishes and utensils are clean and put away.
• Cleaning windows, glass partitions, and mirrors to ensure a clear and streak-free appearance.
• Vacuum carpeted areas where needed, and mop and buff vinyl and /or hard floor areas where needed.
• Performing specific cleaning tasks as required, such as deep cleaning carpets, upholstery, or other designated areas.
• Performing laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding and making sure the linen area and supplies area are restocked.
• Collect and remove rubbish and waste material to authorised disposal points.
• Take responsibility for the safe use of all cleaning materials and equipment used in the course of your duties.
• Maintaining organisation in storage areas, closets, and other designated spaces and monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies to ensure availability for daily tasks.
• Keeping accurate cleaning records and preparing reports as needed.
• Display appropriate signage to ensure that occupants of the building are aware of any circumstances that may affect their health and safety whilst cleaning operations are taking place.
• Undertake job-related training as and when required and be able to work as part of a cleaning team.
• Be able to provide excellent customer service skills, a partnership approach, facilities expertise, a professional demeanour, and effective solutions.

• Understand safe working practices and health and safety legislation
