Job summary

Fota Island Resort is seeking a Wedding & Events Sales Co-ordinator to join the Events Department. This entry level role offers a pathway into Event Management or Sales, with exposure to weddings, corporate events, and restaurant/hotel functions.

You will support administration, coordinate show rounds, and assist with proposals, site tours, and client communications while developing professional skills in a luxury hospitality setting in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Third level education in Event Management, Hospitality or Sales desirable.
• Excellent business acumen and innovation to grow events.
• Professional etiquette, written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure events and weddings administration standards and timely follow-up.
• Coordinate corporate events and site inspections with clients.
• Assist with wedding planning including tours and proposals.
• Handle daily office tasks in collaboration with the Events team.
• Sales activity including client tours, upselling, and new business outreach.
• Build networks and research market trends to stay competitive.
• Attend sales and marketing meetings and support events team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Weddings and Events administration standards are met as per current response time to enquiries and correspondence and maintain system for active follow-up
• Utilise Opera Cloud input/booking procedures as per current Standards.
• Coordination of corporate events including show rounds of hotel and meeting rooms
• Coordination of wedding arrangements with bride and groom, including initial hotel and grounds tour, reception plans, and proposals
• Site Inspections with clients when required
• Daily office administration duties in collaboration with the Events team
• Sales responsibilities include showing potential customers around the hotel, upselling every department, as well as looking for new business opportunities through cold calling, telephone sales, mail shots, and other methods.
• Build network in organisations that may directly or indirectly impact our business as appropriate
• Research market trends and generate new ideas for service and products that will maintain a Competitive and leading edge over our Competitive set
• Attend Sales and Marketing Meetings and any other internal meetings where required
• Flexible working hours as the business requires
