Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous experience in goods-inwards or warehouse role preferred.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining high standards.
• Good IT skills, including stock management systems or willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items safely as required.
• Forklift certification is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check, and verify all incoming and outgoing deliveries.
• Ensure all goods received are correct in quantity and quality; report discrepancies.
• Record stock movements accurately and liaise with departments to update stock levels.
• Organise and store goods in designated areas, optimise space and ensure safe handling.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in goods-inward area to meet safety standards.
• Coordinate returns of incorrect or damaged stock to suppliers per policy.
• Work with sales teams to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
• Assist in cycle counting and inventory control to minimise shrinkage.
• Ensure paperwork is processed and filed for audit purposes.
• Operate forklifts/pallet trucks safely if certified.

Warehouse & Yard Operative Location: Mullinahone, Tipperary Warehouse & Yard Operative Our client, a leading hardware, home and garden store are looking to expand their team and hire a warehouse and yard operative to join the team. This Person is responsible for the efficient and accurate receipt, checking, and storage of all goods. They ensure stock integrity, maintain proper documentation, and support smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, check, and verify all incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Ensure all goods received are of the correct quantity and quality, reporting any discrepancies or damages immediately.
• Accurately record stock movements on the system and liaise with relevant departments to ensure stock levels are updated.
• Organise and store goods in designated areas, ensuring efficient space utilisation and safe handling practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the goods-inward area to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Coordinate returns of incorrect or damaged stock to suppliers in line with store policy.
• Work closely with the sales teams to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
• Assist in regular cycle counting and inventory control measures to minimise shrinkage.
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is processed and filed correctly for audit and compliance purposes.
• Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, and other equipment safely and responsibly (if required and certified).
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
