Job summary

Bell Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Supervisor at our Ballybofey site to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations and lead a busy team. You will ensure accurate stock control, efficient despatch, and compliance while developing staff in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication to balance supervisory duties with operational tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or team lead role
• Strong people management skills including rotas, holidays and absence management
• Good knowledge of warehouse operations, goods in/out and stock control
• Excellent communication and a proactive problem-solving approach
• Hands-on leadership balancing supervision with practical duties

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including goods-in, storage, stock control, order picking/packing and despatch
• Lead and develop the warehouse team with clear communication of tasks and priorities
• Manage team rotas, holiday scheduling, absence reporting and performance management
• Monitor and improve warehouse processes to drive efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure safe and effective use of equipment (forklifts, pallet trucks, scanners)
• Use the WMS to monitor stock levels and report key metrics
• Conduct regular inventory checks and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain housekeeping, health and safety, and compliance across warehouse and despatch
• Collaborate with Warehouse Manager and other site departments to meet targets

Job description

Due to continued growth at our Ballybofey site, we are seeking a highly motivated Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of our busy warehouse. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out, maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance, while leading and developing a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including goods-in, storage, stock control, order picking/packing, and despatch.
• Lead, motivate, and support the warehouse team, ensuring clear communication of tasks and priorities.
• Manage team rotas, holiday scheduling, absence reporting, and performance management.
• Monitor and improve warehouse processes to drive efficiency and maintain accuracy across all stock movements.
• Ensure the safe and effective use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet trucks, and scanners.
• Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor stock levels and report on key metrics.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and liaise with relevant departments on discrepancies.
• Uphold high standards of housekeeping, health and safety, and compliance across the warehouse and despatch area.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager and other site departments to ensure operational targets and customer commitments are achieved.

About You

• Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or team lead role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong people management skills, with experience in rotas, holiday management, absence management, and performance management.
• Good knowledge of warehouse operations, including goods in/out and stock control.
• Forklift licence/certification desirable but not essential.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good I.T Skills.
• A hands‑on leader with the ability to balance team supervision with practical warehouse duties as required.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
