Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Stores Operator to join our busy warehouse team. This is a hands-on role where previous forklift experience is essential, along with a strong commitment to health and safety and excellent attention to detail. You will play an important role in ensuring that materials and finished products are moved, stored and dispatched safely and accurately. The role requires someone who takes pride in getting things right, particularly when counting, checking and scanning pallets.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operating Reach and Counterbalance Forklifts to move and store materials and finished products.
• Receiving, checking and receipting incoming deliveries.
• Accurately counting, checking and scanning pallets to ensure stock movements are recorded correctly.
• Picking and delivering materials and orders across the site.
• Preparing and dispatching finished goods accurately and on time.
• Completing regular stock checks and reporting any discrepancies.
• Ensuring all pallets and products are correctly identified, scanned and stored.
• Completing all required warehouse documentation and system transactions.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse and stores area.
• Working closely with production, logistics and other departments to ensure smooth stock and product movements.
• Following all company health, safety, food safety and quality procedures at all times.
• Identifying and reporting potential health and safety risks within the warehouse.
• Using multiple IT systems to accurately record and manage warehouse activities.

What We're Looking For

• Previous, hands-on forklift experience is essential.
• Valid experience operating Reach and Counterbalance Forklifts.
• Previous experience working in a warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment.
• A strong awareness of health and safety and a proactive approach to identifying and reporting hazards.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when counting, checking and scanning pallets.
• Good stock control and inventory management skills.
• The ability to accurately follow processes and complete documentation.
• Good basic IT skills and confidence using warehouse/stock management systems.
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
• A reliable, organised and positive approach to work.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
