Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment seeks a reliable Warehouse Operative/Driver in Ireland. You will manage receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, plus local deliveries and customer service. The role blends warehouse operations with frontline interactions to ensure smooth service.

It’s a Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm position with no weekend work, offering varied duties and opportunities to develop product knowledge. Forklift and clean Group B driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Current and valid forklift licence or qualification.
• Full, clean driving licence including Group B for at least two years.
• Knowledge of modern warehouse practices and stock control methods.
• Ability to perform manual handling and lift heavy objects safely.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and check against supplier orders.
• Store and allocate materials with proper stock rotation.
• Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders with care.
• Carry out regular stock counts and maintain inventory records.
• Assist customers at the trade counter and process payments.
• Transport and deliver goods to local customers by company vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse and yard.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely following safety procedures.

About Your New Job

As a Warehouse Operative/Driver, you will help ensure that products are received, stored and delivered safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and Warehouse Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Receiving incoming materials, checking deliveries against supplier purchase orders and updating the inventory management system.
• Storing and allocating materials correctly, ensuring stock is rotated according to expiry dates.
• Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders while preventing damage and meeting customer requirements.
• Carrying out regular stock counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Serving customers at the trade counter, including processing credit card transactions and helping to develop positive customer relationships.
• Transporting and delivering goods to local customers using company vehicles.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe warehouse, storage yard and trade counter.
• Using forklifts and other mobile equipment safely, while following all manual handling and health and safety procedures.

This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling, the lifting of heavy objects, the use of mobile plant and working in an outdoor storage area.

What Skills You Need

• At least two years’ experience working in a warehouse or similar environment.
• A current and valid forklift licence or qualification.
• A full, clean driving licence, including Group B, held for a minimum of two years.
• Knowledge of modern warehouse practices and stock control methods.
• The physical ability to carry out manual handling and lift heavy objects safely.
• A strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• A reliable, level-headed and team-oriented attitude.

A Manual Handling Certificate would be advantageous.
