Overview:
- The GMP Warehouse Material Handler (Contractor) isresponsible for performing day-to-day physical and systematic warehouseoperations within a highly regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)biopharmaceutical environment.
- In this role, Safety and Quality are the absolute highestpriorities. The successful candidate will ensure that raw materials,consumables, intermediates, and finished goods are safely received, stored,transferred, and issued in full compliance with EHS standards, standardoperating procedures (SOPs), and data integrity principles. Requirements
Responsibilities:
Safety Excellence (EHS):
- Prioritize personal safety, peer safety, and operationalsafety in every task.
- Strictly adhere to site Environmental Health and Safety(EHS) guidelines, PPE requirements, manual handling standards, and poweredindustrial vehicle (forklift/pallet truck) protocols.
- Proactively report near-misses, unsafe conditions, andincidents immediately. Participate actively in safety walks and audits.
GMP & Quality Compliance:
- Maintain zero tolerance for shortcuts that compromiseproduct quality, cold-chain integrity, or data integrity (ALCOA+).
- Ensure all operations conform to EU GMP / FDAregulations, site SOPs, and chain-of-custody protocols.
- Ensure right-first-time execution for all documentationand system entries.
Material Movement & Logistics Operations
- Execute the safe, accurate, and timely staging, transfer,and dispensing/issuance of raw materials, packaging components, and single-useassemblies to manufacturing suites and laboratories.
- Perform physical receiving, unloading, and inspection ofincoming deliveries from freight carriers, verifying piece counts, integrity ofpackaging, and vendor documentation.
- Safely stage and prepare finished product or outboundshipments in accordance with strict temperature-control and transportvalidation standards.
- Safely operate material handling equipment (e.g.,counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, power pallet trucks, and manualstackers) following certified training.
System & Inventory Transactions (WMS / ERP)
- Execute real-time systematic movements and inventorystatus updates in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and WarehouseManagement System (WMS) (e.g., SAP).
- Ensure immediate scanning and bin-to-bin tracking tomaintain perpetual 100% inventory accuracy.
- Support periodic cycle counts, physical inventoryreconciliations, and discrepancy investigations.
Audit Preparation, Inspections & ComplianceSupport
- Support operational audit readiness at all times toensure the warehouse is perpetually inspection-ready for internal audits,corporate reviews, and regulatory body inspections (e.g., HPRA, FDA, EMA).
- Assist supervisors and Quality Assurance (QA) withwalkthroughs, escorting, and providing documentation during audits.
- Support deviation management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA),and timely implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) or changecontrols as assigned.
Housekeeping & 5S ("Tidy as You Go")
- Uphold strict pharmaceutical-grade housekeeping byembedding the "Tidy as You Go" mindset throughout the facility.
- Maintain clean, organized, and uncluttered aisles,staging lanes, cold rooms, and ambient storage bays aligned with 5S methodology(Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Complete and sign daily/weekly cleaning logs andinspection checklists according to SOP requirements.
- Actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives(Tier meetings, Kaizen events, visual management, and process flowoptimizations).
- Support warehouse layout modifications, proceduralreviews, and equipment commissioning projects as business needs evolve.
Off-Site Material Coordination
- Support off-site warehousing logistics, third-partylogistics (3PL) coordination, off-site storage movements, and external samplingrequests as required.
- Ensure documentation and custody controls are rigorouslymaintained for any off-site or transit operations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Safety & Quality: Zero overdue safety actions; zerocritical or major audit observations; 100% adherence to EHS procedures.
- On-Time In-Full (OTIF): Timely delivery of materials toproduction areas to eliminate production downtime.
- Data Integrity & Accuracy: Real-time systemconfirmations, zero missing batch records/transactions, and high cycle countaccuracy (>99.5%).
- Housekeeping / 5S: Consistent audit scores and dailycompletion of facility hygiene logs.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent secondary education.
- Previous experience (1–3+ years) working in a warehouse,logistics, or materials management role within a GMP, pharmaceutical, medicaldevice, or heavily regulated industry.
- Proven hands-on experience using an Enterprise ResourcePlanning / Warehouse Management System (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalentWMS/barcoding scanners).
- Valid certification or previous licensing for materialhandling equipment (e.g., Reach Truck, Counterbalance, Walkie-Stacker/PPT), orwillingness/ability to achieve certification on-site.
- Strong understanding of Good Documentation Practices(GDP) and data integrity principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with temperature-controlled logistics,cold rooms ( to ), and ultra-low temperature freezers (, ).
- Direct experience handling hazardous materials or DG(Dangerous Goods) with appropriate safety awareness.
- Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or 5S operational excellenceprinciples.
- Quality & Safety Mindset: High integrity anddedication to compliance without taking unauthorized shortcuts.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to verifying lotnumbers, part codes, expiration dates, and quantities.
- Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal andwritten communication skills; collaborative attitude with cross-functionalteams (Operations, QA, QC, and EHS).
- Adaptability & Resilience: Ability to managefluctuating operational tempos, shift work, and multiple conflicting prioritiesin a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands & Working Environment
- Physical Activity: Ability to bend, crouch, reach, lift,and carry materials up to 20–25 kg in compliance with manual handlingguidelines.
- Work Environments: Daily operations across ambientwarehouse spaces, temperature-monitored environments, cold storage walk-inunits ( to ), and loading bays.
- PPE: Consistent use of mandatory Personal ProtectiveEquipment (safety shoes, high-visibility vest, eye protection, thermal PPEwhere required).
Additional Note:
- Open to entry-level candidates with a strong willingnessto learn; warehouse experience is preferred.
- Location: In-person interview required.
- Travel: No international travel. Occasional travel toWaterford and Dublin storage locations may be required after gainingexperience.
- Shift: Weekly rotation between 07:00–15:00 and13:00–21:00
- Contract: 11 months.
