Job summary

Sherpa Kids Ireland is seeking an Afterschool Childcare Assistant for maternity cover in Dublin 1. This part-time role runs Monday to Friday from 1:30pm to 6:00pm, on-site at schools. Garda vetting is required and two written references are needed before starting.

Compensation ranges from EUR 15 to EUR 15.75 per hour. Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting with homework, and delivering a variety of engaging indoor and outdoor activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children (minimum 1 year).
• Basic knowledge of child development.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during activities and free play.
• Assist with homework and educational tasks.
• Engage in a variety of planned activities (indoor and outdoor).
• Bring energy and enthusiasm to daily interactions with children.
• Assist with games, crafts and group activities.
• Ensure a safe, clean and inclusive environment.
• Garda vetting is essential (completed by us after interview).
• Two written references checks are required before starting.
