Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join their Dublin team. The role involves leading planning applications from feasibility to determination, preparing reports and supporting documents, and delivering strategic planning advice for a diverse client base.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, liaise with authorities and stakeholders, and participate in client meetings and hearings as required, with opportunities for progression within a respected planning

Qualifications

• Degree or Master's in Urban/Town Planning or related discipline.
• 5+ years experience in planning consultancy or local authority.
• Eligible for membership of Irish Planning Institute and/or RTPI.
• Strong knowledge of Irish planning system and development management.

Responsibilities

Job description

A leading independent planning consultancy is seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join their growing Dublin-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Urban Planner to work on some of Ireland's most prestigious residential, commercial and strategic infrastructure developments while progressing their career within a highly respected specialist planning consultancy. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex planning applications, providing strategic planning advice and leading projects from initial feasibility through to planning consent.

Projects:

• Large Scale Residential Developments (LRDs) valued up to €500m+
• Commercial, office and mixed-use developments valued up to €300m+
• Industrial, logistics and employment developments valued up to €250m+
• Planning feasibility, due diligence and masterplanning commissions

Role:

• Lead and manage planning applications from feasibility through to planning determination
• Prepare high-quality planning reports, planning statements and supporting documentation
• Provide strategic planning advice and planning due diligence to a diverse client base
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout the planning process
• Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies and key project stakeholders
• Attend client meetings, planning consultations and oral hearings where required

Requirements:

• Degree or Master's qualification in Urban / Town Planning or a related discipline
• 5+ years' experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
• Eligible for membership, or membership, of the Irish Planning Institute and/or Royal Town Planning Institute
• Strong knowledge of the Irish planning system, planning legislation and development management process
• Experience preparing planning applications, planning reports and planning appraisals
• Excellent report writing, stakeholder management and client-facing skills
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple planning projects simultaneously
