Job summary

MSD Ireland is seeking an Upstream Technical Operations Lead for our Dunboyne biologics facility. You will own the upstream program end-to-end, from media preparation to bioreactor operations, while leading a team of scientists and engineers in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

You will collaborate across global teams to drive strategy, technical standards, and continuous improvement, ensuring robust, compliant manufacturing and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of biopharmaceutical manufacturing or development experience.
• Proven leadership in scientific/technical roles.
• Experience in GMP environments and regulatory filings.
• Experience with technology transfer, PPQ, and new product introduction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain end-to-end technical ownership of the biologics program from tech transfer to lifecycle management.
• Provide floor-based manufacturing support to resolve real-time issues and ensure compliant production.
• Lead and develop upstream scientists, engineers, and subteam leads with clear accountability.
• Collaborate with Downstream, Quality, Engineering, and Global teams to align priorities.
