Job summary

MSD, based in Dunboyne, Co. Meath, seeks an Upstream Process Science Lab Technical Lead to drive the Process Sciences Laboratory programs across the site.

You will lead upstream biologics activities, oversee scale-down studies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable technology transfer and new product introduction. The role requires a science/technical degree with at least 6 years in biopharmaceutical development or MS&T, strong GMP/data integrity knowledge, and a proactive,

Qualifications

• BSc/ MSc/PhD in a relevant science/technical field.
• Minimum 6 years in biopharmaceutical development, manufacturing support, MS&T or technical operations.
• Strong understanding of GMP, regulatory expectations, data integrity and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Upstream scientists in design, planning and execution of scale-down studies.
• Oversee small-scale studies supporting technology transfer, process characterisation and lifecycle changes.
• Provide technical leadership for upstream unit operations (cell culture, harvest, scale-down).
• Support new product introduction across Drug Substance and Cell Banking programs.
• Coach team members to solve problems and adopt new perspectives.
• Represent MS&T on global/interdisciplinary teams with strong collaboration.
• Promote proactive safety, quality and compliance in the lab.
