Position Overview

ISEM Future Markets – Energy Transition – Technology Consulting. Full‑time permanent role. No visa sponsorship.

Team and Opportunity

Work with experienced Industry Advisors and support key energy and utility clients through digital transformation, decarbonization, and market design initiatives across the EU and Ireland.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with energy and utility companies across the value chain in technical, strategic, and technology roles.
• Provide expertise in strategy & business development, program management, business architecture, planning and implementation, investment planning, economic valuation, and energy market design.

Skills and Attributes for Success

Market & Trading Expertise

• Demonstrable experience or strong understanding of ISEM trading activities, including DAM, IDM, BM, and Capacity Market participation.
• Understanding of bidding strategies, trading optimisation, and commercial risk management in electricity markets.

Market Design & Reform Knowledge

• Experience or exposure to market design, rule changes, and consultation processes within ISEM or European markets.
• Familiarity with upcoming market reforms, including evolving electricity market structures, flexibility markets, and price signal changes.

Regulatory Understanding

• Broad knowledge of energy market regulations, including SEMO rules, REMIT, and EU energy policy frameworks (e.g., Clean Energy Package).
• Experience supporting or interpreting regulatory submissions, consultations, or compliance requirements.

  System Services & Flexibility

  • Understanding of current and future system service frameworks, including ancillary services, grid stability, and flexibility markets.
  • Awareness of how renewables, storage, and demand‑side response interact with system services and market signals.

  Analytical & Consulting Skills

  • Strong analytical capability, with experience in market modelling, forecasting, or data analysis.
  • Ability to translate complex market and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable insights for clients.
  • Experience delivering client‑facing advisory or consulting work is highly desirable.
