Job summary

Doras in Limerick is seeking a Migrant Victim Support (MVS) Support Worker to deliver trauma-informed casework and advocacy for crime victims, with a focus on migrant communities. Qualifications

  • A third-level qualification in law or a related field.
  • At least two years’ direct support experience with vulnerable migrants/refugees or victims.
  • Trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practice.
  • Knowledge of Irish and EU victims’ rights legislation and immigration processes.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and/or Spanish.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with interpreters and cross-cultural communication.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed one-to-one casework support to victims of crime.
  • Outreach within migrant communities and local organisations to raise awareness.
  • Liaise with Garda Victim Services, INAR, DoJ, HSE Safeguarding Teams and others.
  • Collect and analyse anonymised case data; prepare monthly activity reports.
  • Participate in supervision, debriefing and reflective practice.
