Job summary

Galway Simon Community is hiring a Housing Support Officer to work in the County Community Housing Service. This permanent full-time role involves delivering practical and emotional support to clients with complex care needs, within a compassionate, collaborative team.

Salary on the HSE scale: €39,951–€56,089. Located in Galway County & Surrounds, with a 37-hour week on a 4-week roster. Benefits include pension, education support, and mileage coverage.

Qualifications

• Qualification - Social Care Worker CORU registration or a minimum Level 7 Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience required: 2 years in a similar care role.

Responsibilities

• Support clients from diverse backgrounds using a trauma-informed approach to implement support plans that maximise health and well-being and independent living.
• Stay compliant with policies, mandatory training, and safety standards; participate in inspections and maintenance.
• Lead a shift effectively, log interventions accurately, and communicate clearly within the team to deliver high-quality professional service.
• Be willing to adapt to changing service needs to support clients.
