Job summary

Galway Simon Community is seeking a Housing Support Officer to join Prevention Services in Galway City. You will be a key worker alongside Health Care Assistants, delivering practical and emotional supports to clients with complex needs to support independent living.

The role requires CORU registration or a Level 7 degree, at least 2 years’ experience, and a valid driving licence. A trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach is valued, with a 37-hour week and a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• CORU registration or a Level 7 degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a care setting.
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Support clients from diverse backgrounds using a trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach.
• Implement client support plans to maximise health, home management and well-being.
• Lead shifts, log interventions, and communicate clearly within the team.
• Ensure compliance with policies, mandatory training, and health and safety standards.
