Job summary

Western Care in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, is seeking a Transport Officer (Grade IV) to provide transport support for its fleet and assist the Transport Manager with system changes and scheduling. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, based at Castlebar.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years in a busy support role, strong MS Excel skills, and proficiency with MS Office. A driver’s license and Garda Vetting are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a busy support role.
• Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel usage.
• Proficient IT skills and system orientation.
• Competent in MS Office.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with procurement platforms like eTenders and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transport insurance claims processing and incident reporting; maintain records of incidents and claims.
• Coordinate route, vehicle, driver planning and scheduling with the transport manager.
• Collaborate with area managers, services and drivers to communicate updates on routes and vehicle status.
• Research and procure fleet tracking systems and train managers in their use.
• Maintain fleet tracking master list and oversee procurement for repairs and maintenance.
