Job summary

AECOM Ireland is seeking a driven Civil Engineer to join our large transport team across Dublin, Cork, Galway and beyond. The role focuses on delivering Roads, Public Transport and Greenway projects from concept through construction with an emphasis on statutory approvals and client collaboration.

The successful candidate will progress toward Chartership, apply UK/IE standards, and work within a multidisciplinary team to meet quality, safety and budget targets. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or similar.
• Progress toward Chartership in the future.
• Post-graduate experience in civil engineering, highways, public transport and greenways.
• Knowledge of UK and Ireland design standards (DMRB, DMURS, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual).
• Knowledge of contract documentation for major transport projects (incl. NEC/Public Works Contract).
• Knowledge of statutory planning and design approvals in the UK and/or Ireland.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage design packages on a diverse range of projects from concept to construction.
• Lead major highway, bus infrastructure, and greenway projects to deliver safe transport solutions.
• Apply UK/Ireland design standards to projects and ensure quality within time and budget.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and specialists across disciplines.
• Engage with clients, local authorities and stakeholders through approval processes.
• Mentor apprentices and contribute to AECOM’s learning culture.
