Job summary

ESB in Ireland is seeking a finance professional to support the financial governance and performance management of the Transmission Asset Owner (TAO) business under the PR6 framework. The role involves monitoring, analysing, and reporting on PR6 expenditure, forecasts and actual performance to ensure robust financial oversight across a large portfolio of transmission investments.

Qualifications

Primary degree in Finance, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related discipline.
Experience in financial analysis, cost management, forecasting, or performance reporting.
Experience in preparing reports and presenting insights to stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work across teams and manage competing priorities.
Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyse PR6 capital and operational expenditure, tracking actual spend against approved allowances, budgets, and forecasts.
Prepare financial performance reports and dashboards, providing clear analysis of trends, variances, risks, and opportunities across the transmission portfolio.
Support the development, challenge, and consolidation of periodic forecasts, ensuring assumptions are robust, evidenced, and aligned with programme delivery expectations.
Perform detailed cost analysis of major transmission projects and work programmes, identifying key cost drivers and emerging financial risks.
Support the preparation of financial inputs to regulatory submissions, including BPQ, Delivery Obligation reporting, and other CRU reporting requirements.
Assist in the management of regulatory funding allowances, ensuring expenditure is accurately allocated, monitored, and reported.
Work closely with project managers, finance business partners, and programme teams to validate financial information and improve forecasting accuracy.
Support governance reviews and assurance activities by providing financial analysis and evidence to support decision-making.
Develop and maintain reporting tools, processes, and datasets that improve transparency, consistency, and efficiency in financial and regulatory reporting.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial governance, reporting capability, and portfolio performance management across the Transmission business.
