Job summary

ESB is seeking an experienced Engineer or Technician to support transmission projects in Ireland. The role focuses on overhead line clearances, line design, LiDAR processing, and corridor clearance management to ensure safe, reliable network operation.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ relevant experience, be proficient with ArcGIS, surveying, and GPS, and hold a full driving license. Flexible/work-smart arrangements are available within the ESB framework.

Qualifications

• ArcGIS experience and surveying/GPS use are essential.
• Site experience and a minimum of 5 years in related work are required.
• Full driving license and access to a car are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist transmission engineering support to ESB Networks.
• Perform overhead line clearance calculations for ESB and third‑party developments.
• Design overhead transmission lines for capital and maintenance projects.
• Process LiDAR data and manage corridor clearance systems.
