Job summary

Dawn Meats in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join the finance team and follow our accounting training programme to qualification. You will gain wide exposure to finance, operations and business processes, with on-the-job coaching and mentoring.

Based at the Ballyhaunis facility, you'll work on weekly management accounts, monthly financials, and support reporting to the Financial Controller, with potential secondments and a path to professional qualification.

Qualifications

• A Level 7 qualification in Accounting and Finance, Business Studies or related field.
• Ambition and commitment to study toward gaining an accountancy qualification.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Strong academic record and a history of high achievement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing weekly management accounts and site analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial accounts including costs and returns.
• Provide analysis and support to commercial and operations teams.
• Assist in reporting for the management team and oversee adhoc queries.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency of the site Finance function.

Role Summary

We are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Accountants to join our Ballyhaunis Finance team. The successful candidates will follow our accounting training programme to qualification and become integral to our business.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based at our Ballyhaunis facility and will be responsible for:

• Involvement in a wide variety of projects/tasks within the site Finance department.
• Preparing and completing weekly management accounts and manufacturing based analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial accounts including areas such as capital, costs and returns.
• Providing analysis and decision support to the commercial and operations teams.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports for the management team.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and efficiency of the site Finance function.
• Support the Financial Controller as required on reporting and adhoc queries, including specific project assignments.
