Job summary

Dawn Meats in Kilbeggan is recruiting a Trainee Accountant to join the local Finance team. You will follow our accounting training programme to qualification and gain wide experience in finance, operations and business processes.

The role offers on-site work with coaching and mentoring as you progress toward professional credentials. The successful candidate will contribute to weekly management accounts, monthly financials, and reporting while supporting continuous improvement across the site

Qualifications

• Level 7 qualification in Accounting and Finance or similar.
• Willingness to study toward obtaining an accounting designation.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly management accounts and manufacturing-based analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial accounts including capital, costs and returns.
• Provide analysis and decision support to commercial and operations teams.
• Assist in preparing reports for management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the site Finance function.
• Support Financial Controller with reporting and ad-hoc queries.

Role Summary:Dawn Meats Group is one of Europe's leading beef and lamb processing companies with locations across Ireland, UK, and continental Europe employing over 8,000 employees. We are currently seeking to recruit a Trainee Accountant to join our Kilbeggan Finance team.

The successful candidates will follow our accounting training programme to qualification and become integral to our business. This is an excellent career opportunity for high performing Trainee Accountant. As part of the Finance team, you will gain a wide range of finance, operations and business experience and skills through continuous on the job development with coaching and mentoring. The role may include internal secondment opportunities.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based at our Kilbegganproduction facility and will have the following responsibilities:

• Involvement in a wide variety of projects/tasks within the site Finance department.
• Preparing and completing weekly management accounts and manufacturing based analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial accounts including areas such as capital, costs and returns.
• Providing analysis and decision support to the commercial and operations teams.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports for the management team.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement and efficiency of the site Finance function.
• Support the Financial Controller as required on reporting and adhoc queries, including specific project assignments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A level 7 qualification in Accounting and Finance, Business studies or similar.
