Alternative Heat Ltd. in Dundalk is seeking a motivated Trainee Accountant to join the Finance team and develop accounting expertise while delivering accurate financial information.

You will gain exposure to monthly management accounts, financial reporting and year-end processes, while supporting accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and regulatory submissions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Team Overview:

The Accounts department is responsible for managing the financial health and integrity of the business. This team handles everything from accounts payable and receivable to payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. By ensuring accurate and timely financial processing, the Accounts department provides essential support to all areas of the business, enabling informed decision-making and maintaining strong financial control. Their work is critical to sustaining growth, profitability, and operational efficiency across the company.

Role Overview:

The Trainee Accountant will support the Finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial information while developing their accounting knowledge and professional experience. The role will provide exposure to a wide range of accounting activities, including financial reporting, reconciliations, statutory compliance, audits and month-end processes, while supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.

What You'll be Doing

The role involves supporting the finance function across monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end accounting procedures, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records. Responsibilities include assisting with accounts payable and receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns and statutory submissions, as well as monitoring customer and supplier balances and supporting expense and payroll processes. The role will also provide assistance during internal and external audits, liaise with internal departments, customers and suppliers, and contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting. In addition, the position will ensure financial information is handled accurately and confidentially, comply with company policies and relevant regulations, support overseas compliance for posted and local employees, and drive continuous improvement across finance processes.
