Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Strict compliance with environmental, Health, Safety and Hygiene requirements.
  • Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on all operational equipment.
  • Ensure quick reaction to minimise downtime and reduce press stops.
  • Fault finding with long-term solutions and data analysis.
  • Provide 24/7 manufacturing support.
  • Support plant KPI achievement and safety targets.
  • Maintain safe working environment and replace guards after interventions.
  • Collaborate with other functions to meet plant objectives.
  • Repair and investigate machine breakdowns to minimise downtime.

Position overview:

The function of a Toolmaker is to work to a planned maintenance schedule while ensuring full Technical support is provided to production 24/7. The role requires the Toolmaker to work within a team environment, liaising with Production, Quality and all other Engineering/Electrical personnel. The Individual must also have the skills and ability to work alone.

The Toolmaker must prioritise his workload in conjunction with Lead Toolmaker. While ensuring that the requirements of the shift’s and projects been undertaken within the plant are met. Ensuring that all work carried out is in compliance with plant Health and Safety rules.

Please note this position requires working in a shift pattern. This is a day shift role with 12-hour shifts (8:00 am to 8:00 pm) following a defined shift pattern.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Strict compliance with all environmental, Health, Safety and Hygiene requirements.
  • Conduct corrective and preventative maintenance on all operational equipment.
  • Ensure a quick reaction time to minimise downtime. Proactively work with the Shift manager and operational personnel to identify and reduce the frequency of press stop.
  • Focus on fault finding and ensuring a long tern solution to problems. Investigate areas of repetitive downtime and actively problem solve to prevent re-occurrence using PM11 and other database systems, for data analysis.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing function receives the required level of support 24/7.
  • Contribute to achievement of plant environmental, Health, Safety and Hygiene targets.
  • Ensure at all times a safe working environment is maintained, (all guards and safety equipment removed for interventions are replaced before machines are restarted.)
  • Work in partnership with all other functions to achieve overall plant and business objectives.
  • Maintain, repair and investigate machine breakdowns, to ensure minimum levels of downtime within the plant. Specific focus should be given to auxiliary equipment faults.
  • Operate effectively with other Engineering/Quality /Electrical personnel to ensure the overall performance of the plant.
  • Participate in the plant Safety Committee.
  • Achieve KPI’s and other related targets

Work Environment: This role requires full on-site presence at our Waterford plant.
Hiring Rate: 86,332.00 EUR gross per year .
Bonus Plan: This position is eligible to participate in Ball’s annual incentive compensation program.
