Job summary

Unknown company in Longford seeks a Toolmaker to manufacture, assemble, repair and maintain precision tools to tight drawings. You will operate lathes, mills, grinders and spark erosion equipment, and perform hand-finishing as required.

The role involves troubleshooting tooling issues, ensuring tools meet specifications and deadlines, and supporting continuous improvement. You will help maintain maintenance records and train apprentices while upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified Toolmaker with a completed apprenticeship and toolroom experience.
• Experience operating conventional machine tools and interpreting technical drawings.
• Wire EDM experience desirable; CNC programming knowledge advantageous.
• Strong practical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.

About Your New Job

• Manufacture, assemble, repair and maintain precision tools, dies, fixtures and end-of-arm tooling to technical drawings.
• Operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders and spark erosion equipment, carrying out hand-finishing as required.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues, perform quality checks and ensure tools meet required specifications and production deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement, maintain accurate maintenance records and assist with training apprentices and new staff.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment while adhering to health and safety procedures.

What Skills You Need

• Qualified Toolmaker with a completed apprenticeship and experience in a toolroom or precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating conventional machine tools and interpreting technical drawings.
• Wire EDM experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of CNC equipment and programming an advantage.
