Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Thermal Engineer to join our Letterkenny team. You will design and develop mechanical systems within modular buildings, including heating, ventilation, cooling, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through commissioning.

The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle in the data centre and telecom sectors, with about 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process & Energy Engineering, Thermotechnics, Modelling & Simulation, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar engineering role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• English language proficiency at B2 level or above.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support construction documentation and detailed design packages.
• Prepare manufacturing and technical documentation.
• Provide engineering support during module assembly and integration within the Letterkenny facility.
• Support service teams and subcontractors during project execution.
• Participate in constructability reviews and provide technical feedback to the design team.
• Collaborate with project management, quality, manufacturing, testing, and construction teams to deliver projects.
• Manage construction administration deliverables (as-built docs, installation manuals, FAT, punch lists).
• Collaborate with local service teams to improve project execution and implementation.
• Specify bills of materials and services for project delivery.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and service providers.
• Provide engineering support during site construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Support multiple concurrent projects with quality and delivery standards.
