Job summary

Vertiv seeks a Thermal Engineer in Letterkenny, Ireland, to design mechanical systems for modular infrastructure supporting data centres and telecoms. You will work with architecture, structure, electrical, and manufacturing teams from concept through handover.

The role emphasizes heating, ventilation, cooling, plumbing, and fire suppression in modular buildings, with factory integration and site commissioning exposure. 20% travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process & Energy Engineering, Thermotechnics, Modelling & Simulation, or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar engineering role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Support development of construction documentation and detailed design packages.
• Prepare manufacturing and technical documentation.
• Provide engineering support during module assembly and integration activities.
• Support service teams and subcontractors during project execution.
• Participate in constructability reviews and provide technical feedback to the design team.
• Collaborate with project management, quality, manufacturing, testing, and construction teams to deliver projects.
• Manage construction administration deliverables, including as-built documentation, installation manuals, FAT, flushing and pressure testing, and punch list close-out.
• Collaborate with local service teams to improve project execution.
• Specify bills of materials and services required for project delivery.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and service providers throughout project execution.
• Provide engineering support during site construction, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
