Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Thermal Engineer in Letterkenny, Ireland to lead the design of mechanical systems for modular buildings supporting data centre and telecom sectors. You will contribute to heating, ventilation, cooling, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, collaborating across architectural, structural, electrical, manufacturing, and project delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process & Energy Engineering, Thermotechnics, Modelling & Simulation, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar engineering role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• English language proficiency at B2 level or above.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of construction documentation and detailed design packages.
• Prepare manufacturing and technical documentation.
• Provide engineering support during module assembly and integration activities within the Letterkenny facility.
• Support service teams and subcontractors during project execution.
• Participate in constructability reviews and provide technical feedback to the design team.
• Collaborate with project management, quality, manufacturing, testing, and construction teams to successfully deliver projects.
• Manage construction administration deliverables, including: As-built documentation, Installation manuals, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), flush and pressure testing activities, Punch list support and close-out activities.
• Collaborate with local service teams to improve project execution and implementation.
• Specify bills of materials and services required for project delivery.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and service providers throughout project execution.
• Provide engineering support during site construction, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Support multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
