Job summary

Vertiv is expanding its engineering and manufacturing operations in Letterkenny, Burnfoot, and Derry, recruiting two Project Engineer Electrical Engineers to design and integrate modular data center buildings and power solutions. You will work with the design team on CD sets, prepare BoMs, and support installation and commissioning on site.

The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s in electrical engineering, 1+ year experience, and strong English (B2).

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s in electrical engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in similar roles.
• Proficient with Windows and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong modeling skills; knowledge of Revit and EPLAN preferred.
• Solid English communication skills (B2).
• Teamwork and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Problem solving, analytical thinking and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing modular buildings for customized solutions.
• Electrical design on projects (Electrical, Fire Alarm and Controls) during factory integration.
• Collaboration with architecture, structure, and mechanical teams.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and BoMs for installation materials.
• Provide engineering supervision and support at the Letterkenny factory.
• Support service teams and subcontractors during project execution.
• Produce as-built documentation, FAT procedures, and installation manuals.

Vertiv is expanding its manufacturing, engineering, and support operations in Letterkenny (Co. Donegal), Burnfoot (Co. Donegal), and Derry (Northern Ireland), creating over 200 jobs by mid-2026 to meet AI-driven demand. The Letterkenny site specializes in designing and manufacturing customized, pre-fabricated modular data center buildings and power solutions.

We are seeking two Project Engineer Electrical Engineers to join the team

POSITION SUMMARY

• Designing and developing modular buildings for customized solutions in accordance with highest standards and demanding requests.
• Electrical design on projects (Electrical, Fire Alarm and Controls systems) during factory integration in Letterkenny
• Integration with other disciplines; architectural, structural, mechanical. Focus on general design, concepts, calculation, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cooperation with the design team in the development of CD (construction documentation) sets
• Preparation of manufacturing documentation
• Preparing BoMs for installation material and non-critical equipment
• Engineering supervision and support when equipping modules at the factory (Letterkenny)
• Engineering support to service team and subcontractors
• Involvement during the design stage trough content and constructability review, responsible for providing feedback (comments) into the design community.
• Collaboration with local service and with the company operations team (project management, quality control, manufacturing, testing team and construction) in defining a project deployment strategy and executing the project
• Responsible for:
  • As Built Documentation
  • FAT procedures (L3)
  • Installation manuals
  • Assisting with Punch list items
  • Etc.
• Communication with other Vertiv engineering specialists in order to implement the best solutions
• Collaborate with local service to beneficially improve project execution
• Engineering supervision and support during site constructions and commissioning

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor or master’s in electrical engineering
• Required experience 1+ years on similar positions
• Active user of: Windows, MS Office incl. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD
• Proficient modeling skills required, preferred: Revit; EPLAN
• Strong knowledge of English language, (B2)
