Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Structural Design Engineer in Ireland to develop modular steel building designs for data centres and critical infrastructure. You will create 3D models, perform static and dynamic analyses, and prepare detailed workshop drawings and specifications for fabrication.

You will collaborate with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, compliant designs and smooth project delivery, supporting site activities and technical reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• 3+ years of experience in structural design.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design Skidded Steel Structures: develop structural design for modular steel buildings; create 3D models; perform calculations; prepare workshop drawings and specs.
• Ensure compliance with international/national standards and best practices; deliver safe, cost-effective designs.
• Collaborate with architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and site engineers for cohesive project execution.
• Review subcontractor workshop documentation and supplier offers; specify materials and certifications.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and site activities; resolve structural issues.
